Acupuncture Clinic Practical Assessment
Designed for Shiatsu and Massage Practitioners and Chinese Herbalists who already have a working knowledge of TCM theory, diagnosis, point location and function, this one-year module will equip you with the practical skills and theoretical knowledge to treat effectively using TCM Acupuncture. 100+ Clinical training hours will enable you to qualify as a truly competent Acupuncturist
Pre-requisites:
- Completion of Shiatsu Diploma
- Completion of JING Massage Diploma plus TCM Theory and Shiatsu Practice – CPD
You will receive:
Practical Teaching Days
- Introduction to the various forms of acupuncture needles
- Various styles of insertion and techniques to circulate, tonify and disperse Qi
- Supplementary techniques including moxa, electro-acupuncture, bleeding, and auricular-acupuncture
- Training in safe practice, contraindications to treatment, and how to manage adverse events e.g., haematomas
- How to needle a selection of commonly used ‘difficult points’
Theoretical Teaching Days
- TCM theory, Pattern differentiation and point selection for common conditions experienced in the clinic
- How to provide a coherent acupuncture treatment with local, adjacent, and distal points
- Point selection and combination via pattern differentiation
Clinical Training 100+ hours
- Hand-on training in the Clinic, treating new and follow up patients with real problems under supervision
- Adequate clinical time to apply the practical and diagnostic skills you will acquire, ensuring that you qualify as a competent Acupuncturist

- Advanced TCM case study taking and tongue diagnosis
- TCM pattern differentiation and point selection for common conditions experienced in the clinic

Regular feedback and clinical support
- Regular one to one feedback sessions with teachers in class and clinic
- Clinical observation (30 hours) via multi bed and individual practitioners
- Clinical practice (72) in our student multi-bed clinic and teaching classroom
This qualification will enable you to gain:
- Membership of the British Acupuncture Federation
- Full Insurance with Balens to practice as an Acupuncturist
- Access to the WCA Chinese Herbal Medicine Diploma (Saving 1 year on your training)
