Treat the most common disease presentations in your clinic effectively using Shiatsu and TCM diagnosis.

Through a series of 10 hands on workshops you will learn new approaches to the treatment of

  • Lower back and hip pain – Bi-Syndrome
  • Neck and shoulder pain – Frozen shoulder
  • Digestive disorders – Constipation, diarrhoea, IBS
  • Digestive disorders – GERD, acid reflux, nausea, gastritis
  • Mental Emotional conditions – Anxiety, depression & Insomnia
  • Menstrual problem – Working with the menstrual cycle
  • Menopause – Supporting women through the menopause
  • Headaches and Migraines
  • Respiratory problems – common cold, coughs & asthma
  • Urinary problems

And develop and expand your repertoire of:

  • Shiatsu techniques
  • Palpatory diagnosis
  • TCM understanding
  • Acupressure point location, knowledge and selection
  • Diagnostic and therapeutic exercises

Workshops are available as stand-alone CPD (units) or as whole courses at a reduced cost

Description

Each hands-on workshop will cover the practical application of Shiatsu and TCM theory for specific disease presentation.

The focus of each day will be very practical, with lots of Shiatsu and body work techniques but which are underpinned by TCM theory and understanding.  To study the TCM theory for each disease presentation in depth, please attend our corresponding online TCM theory workshops on the relevant Saturdays

Time:  Sundays 9:30am – 5pm

Cost: £125 per workshop.  All 10 classes can be purchased for £1000.

Venue: JING massage, 28-29 Bond Street, Brighton, BN1 1RD

Prerequisite

  • Shiatsu Diploma
  • Massage Diploma which includes an element of TCM theory and Acupressure massage

Syllabus

By the end of the workshops you will gain the following practical skills:

  • Hands on Diagnosis though looking, movement exercises, and palpation
  • Safe and comfortable positioning of clients
  • Differentiation of Acute Vs Chronic presentation
  • How to work the common channels involved with diverse Shiatsu techniques
  • Advanced Shiatsu Techniques for specific disease presentations
  • Accurate location of key Acupressure points
  • Review of Acupressure point functions and combinations
  • Patient therapeutic exercises where appropriate

Learning will take place through

  • Hands-on, practical bodywork
  • Experiential exercises, yoga and Qi-Gong techniques
  • In class discussion and Q & A sessions
  • Access to online quiz after the course to test and refresh your knowledge
